Beta Report 3:
=========

1. Much Better working version.
2. Congratulations! you are closer for hitting the jackpot with the checklist procedure.[Now it has an Index, well idea since now the user is able to continue the whole simulation without interrupting the flow of the events, otherwise this might kill realism and immersion].
3. Unfortunately, since not everyone is expert in space exploration missions, we need to consider that many users could get confused because of the checklist Index, since the order in which the checklists are placed is not correct, even myself picked up the second one, thinking it was trans-lunar injection, but unfortunately it was lunar orbit insertion, so even me got confused.[adding certain info link next to each checklist could be useful and educational].
4. In my first attempt to pick the next checklist from the checklist Index , no matter what checklist I click, the only one running is always launch checklist.[this is bad..].
5. Here I post a short video showing some graphic issues [Launching the Apollo 8 scenario found that sky skin map is replaced with ground tiles and some buttons inside the CM are shown black without any texture, weird I know ] and the checklist bug at the end. [Checklist Index won't let you pick a checklist].

Thanks!

Steam Version Beta Report 4

1. Today testing the latest version updated.
2. Apollo 8 mission cheklist.
4. Less graphic glitches.
5. some checklist work, the rest don't.

Right checklists:
================
a. Earth Orbit insertion. [accessed by clicking either; "Procedures" tab or "checklist" tab from the checklist window].
b. Launch to Orbit.  [accessed by clicking either; "Procedures" tab or "checklist" tab from the checklist window].
c. Pre Launch. [accessed by clicking either; "Procedures" tab or "checklist" tab from the checklist window].
D. Parking Orbit. [accessed by clicking either; "Procedures" tab or "checklist" tab from the checklist window].

Wrong Checklists:
================
a. The Rest, for example : Lunar Orbit Insertion checklist is actually Launch checklist. [in the left tab from the checklist window

says: Lunar Orbit Insertion, but in fact is the Launch checklist].

1. Trying to run the Apollo 8 mission/Parking Orbit Scenario. once everything loads, we discovered the "Camera explosion bug", Yes as you read it. once inside the CSM, change the camera position, so youre are placed in front the CSM tunnel. when trying to ZOOM in the view, the whole simulation explodes. [This is wrong, since the User might think he did something wrong, but in fact is a vile bug].

Please Watch this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQG5bj83zlA&feature=youtu.be

As you saw, I got successful replicating the bug twice in a row. I also tried yesterday to Align CSM/SIVB Orbit with Moon's Orbit as a previous procedure before Trans Lunar Injection. the problem is that I got the "LN GEAR STRESS" message, then no matter what I do the spacecraft always explodes, same as above.

 2. I also was able to test the save scenario feature, it works quite well. [It would be good if a "Save as" option is added to the simulations, since virtual astronauts always have our own method of space piloting, it means that many virtual astronauts save their progress at certain phases of the whole mission or certain procedures/maneuvers].

for example The save list could look as something like this:

Save 1 Slot: Auto Save Feb. 11. 2018
Save 2 Slot: [User Deorbit STS-124] Feb. 5. 2018
Save 3 Slot: [User Rendesvous with ISS STS-124] Feb. 5. 2018
Save 4 Slot: [User Orbit Procedures STS-124] Feb. 5. 2018
Save 5 Slot: [User Reentry STS-124] Feb. 5. 2018
Save 6 Slot: [User Planting the Flag Apollo 11] Feb. 5. 2018

[Of course, this will require many save slots, another idea is to organize, edit and store the saves by missions]

for example each mission save list could look as something like this:

Save 1 Slot: [User Gemini IV Pre-Launch] April. 29. 2018 at 17:15:08
Save 2 Slot: [User Gemini IV Launch] April. 29. 2018 at 22:47:12
Save 3 Slot: [User Gemini IV Splash] June. 1. 2018 at 12:13:04
Save 4 Slot: [User Gemini IV Recovery] June 2. 2018 at 10:02:07

Thanks.

1. I continue using the Auto pilots. [Mean while Trans Lunar Injection Checklist is added to the checklist menu]. once I got my spacecraft orbit aligned with the Moon's orbit by 0.04 Degrees, Suddenly, now it changes to 178.00 Degrees. {as by magic} [so it no matters if you save your progress, you must complete the procedure again? this is definitely a veil bug]. 1. On my Third attempt for the purpose of performing a decent TLI by using the Autopilot, the autopilot throw me out of route, its

funny I know, the autopilots and checklist is our priority right now and developers are working on them, so soon it will be

possible. [possible to perform a Launch-TLI Successfully]

2. When trying to align orbit planes by using the Autopilot, in the Align MFD change by its own to align "Inverse" mode instead of

align "Normal", maybe this was the event wich caused I missed the right route to Moons Orbit. Please watch video bellow:

Thanks!

1. After several attempts using Autopilot TLI and getting as a result being always thrown out far away from the moon course, I decided to Try the TLI mode with the help of the Orbit Planner. [First attempt, once I got everything settled up in Orbit Planner, I saved the Scenario, Unfortunately Once I load the saved scenario, I discovered the Orbit Planner plan got clear, so I needed to do the plan again. [there is a little bug it, should save even before the burns].
2. After creating a new Orbit plan I achieved to encounter the Moon and Orbit it.[At last!].
3. Until now here is what I have achieved with space simulator so far. [of course taking into account that for the launch on December 21 is only required the Apollo 8 mission as a must have].

a. The Apollo 8 mission plan is: [Launching form Earth, getting a parking Orbit, Align planes with the Moon's Orbit, performing a TLI burn, Perform some mid course corrections, then insert into the Moon's Orbit, then return to the Earth by performing Trans Earth injection, once at Earth's Orbit CM cone separation from SM, Deorbit and splash down].
b. According to the plan above with the Apollo 8 checklist [auto or manual mode] I am able to perform Pre-Launch, Launch and Parking Orbit since TLI checklist is not ready yet for using within the checklist menu MFD.
c. According to the plan above with the use of Auto pilots I can only perform Orbit plane Aligment [Inverse mode] then when trying TLI target: Moon [Inverse mode], the autopilot thrown out my ship far away from the moon's course.
d. So it left us with the only possible method of performing this procedures a [Semi-manual mode]. What I did was to get a parking orbit, then I performed a manual Orbital planes Alignment by using control MFD and thrusting at Normal+ and Normal-, then I got the relative inclination of both orbits at 0.25 degrees, then I used orbit planner for the TLI, once I rendezvous with the moon, I inserted into its orbit by burning in Retrograde att at a desired point guided by the diagram displayed in Orbit MFD.

3. Sometimes trying to save a scenario becomes almost impossible, watch video for more the details:

Thanks!

1. No key assigned on Control menu for RCS Linear Forward and Backward. [this is a must need for Rendezvous/Docking, Of course it is not required for the Apollo 8 mission].
2.  I tried the TLI Checklist, [The one which is placed at the bottom of the Checklist menu, Unfortunately no new result, Until now it is impossible to perform the Apollo 8 mission as the real astronauts did it, by following the Mission checklists step by step since the Mission Checklists need to be completed and work flawlessly].
3. For now the only way to perform the Apollo 8 mission. [As I did it]. [Semi-manual mode].
4. In the following video is showing me trying the TLI Checklist from the checklist menu [with no luck, since it still doesn't works], at least you may enjoy the internal Cockpit view.

Yes, a lot of stuff still feels unfinished, wonder if it's really going to be released today. The product is not in a totally bad shape, but I fear that the current state could drive some people away... :(

1. The Menu Lever scroll button has changed, now is wider. [I think now is more manageable for the user, certainly better scrolling now].
2. I Discovered a bug for the Xbox 360 controllers users [which by the way are tons on Steam]. Once I press the LB (Left Back) Button, the Camera changes, this happens no matter how your controller is mapped. [it would be good if this is fixed, since in the Steam store page the simulator appears to be full controller Support].
3. On my third attempt of performing a soft landing by using the parachutes. [Control MFD/Ship/Chute]. it never releases the chute. the cone always crashes no matter what is done, it explodes. . both ways causes the CM cone to explode. [the Sad thing is, this is the latest phase of the mission, this is the only one missing for me to accomplish a complete Apollo 8 mission, at least in a Custom Semi-Manual mode, by using only the available checklists is impossible by now].
4. Finishing the chute procedure, the rest of the autopilots and completing the checklist [at least for the Apollo 8 mission] is a priority right now.

Happy Holidays! :D
