General Discussion / Re: camera ref ship button
« on: February 03, 2017, 04:59:24 PM »
Hi Leyzorek,

That's right, we added an additional external camera view option in v1.0.7. We added this in response to some users' request for an option to have the planet always in view in the same position on screen. I recommend that you use the REF: SHIP view if you are orbiting a planet in a constant orbit for an extended time. In the REF: SHIP mode you can enjoy the magnificent views of Earth or Moon from orbit without having to adjust the camera angle as you go around. Remember to keep your spacecraft prograded/retrograded as well.

Hope that helps!

Report your Bugs here! / Re: Help - Can't Download App onto iPad
« on: February 01, 2017, 02:10:41 PM »
Hi Wrench589,

did you managed to download the app in the end?
This could just be some temporary issue with Apple's servers which get resolved eventually so you just have to be patient and try again another time.

One thing I can suggest is to check that there is enough memory in your iPad. If you don't have enough storage it won't download.

Hope you're able to play the game again soon!

Happy 2017 to all our dear forum members!

We closed 2016 with the successful release of v1.0.7 - our most stable release so far. In these coming months of the new year we are working hard to bring Space Simulator to Steam on Early Access.

To celebrate this milestone we are GIVING AWAY FREE steam keys!!!

Yes that right, we are giving away free steam keys (PC or MAC) for anyone who rates the game positively (5 stars) on the App Store with a genuine and thoughtful review (min 50 words). This offer is for v1.0.7 only so those who reviewed previously versions please update your reviews to qualify.

Those of you interested in claiming your key please email me at info[at]brixtondynamics.co.uk or PM with your review info. The key will give you FREE access to the game when it is released for Early Access on Steam later this year.

A big big thank you to those who have reviewed already (you'll get your free Steam Key too of course!)

Happy 2017!

With each new update the previous reviews are archived. So yes, please click on the stars again and update the text of your review. You don't have to write a completely different review. Try editing/adding just a few words and it should show up as an updated review.
Thank you for taking the time to do this!

General Discussion / how to read FDAIs
« on: November 13, 2016, 05:40:07 PM »
In response to some questions we've been getting in relation to the Apollo panel '8 balls', here's a brief summary...

The IMU (Inertial Measuring Unit) is fixed onto the cockpit and moves with the spacecraft. There are three gimbal axes measuring movement of the spacecraft in the X, Y and Z axes. The output from the IMU axes then turns the 8 ball to give a visual indication of the position of the non-moving stable platform (the 8 ball) in relation to the spacecraft.

Although bearing some resemblance to FDs (Flight Directors) used in general aviation, the FDAIs are not artificial horizon indicators. Rather, they are attitude indicators showing the yaw, pitch and roll of the spacecraft with reference to an initial inertial state, which changes depending on the mission.

The horizontal lines are the pitch lines.
The vertical lines are the yaw lines.
The center semicircle indicates the current pitch and yaw.
The triangle points to the roll.
The red area is the dreaded gimbal lock region.

Report your Bugs here! / Re: cannot close log wwindow ios
« on: November 08, 2016, 03:56:28 PM »
Hi ntrung03,

To unlock the control windows long press the round menu button on the top-right corner. Once unlocked you can move the windows around, change size (dragging the bottom right corner) or close them.

The 'x' button and window tabs will automatically disappear after a few seconds, although we are thinking about replacing the autolock with manual locking/unlocking.

Hope that helps!

General Discussion / Science Museum 3D movie - Legend of Apollo
« on: November 06, 2016, 12:08:23 PM »
A really neat short movie about the Apollo 11 mission released by the Science Museum: Legend of Apollo Main (3D)

Highlights some interesting details from the astronauts' perspective. Great animation and drama building!

Hi John,

build 1.34 is ready for testing. You should have received an email notification.

In this build we are hoping to achieve a good level of stability so please keep an eye out for any unexpected crashes, etc.

Also, in the new GUI you need to 'unlock' by pressing the 'unlock' button in the top-right hand corner for a few seconds to show the close buttons and the tabs (to rearrange the windows). The control windows will autolock by themselves. This reduces clutter on the screen by hiding the close buttons/tabs most of the time.

Let us know how it goes! Thnx.
