General Discussion / programmers that put man on the moon
« Last post by ApolloGirl on February 20, 2018, 10:27:47 PM »
Much of the ground work of putting man on the moon was done by a bunch of young ambitious programmers that worked round the clock to meet NASA's impossible deadlines. The software running on the simulators was key to the success of the missions as every maneuver carried out onboard was calculated in advance by IBM computers in the Real-Time Computer Complex at Johnson Space Center.

These are some of the programmers that helped achieve NASA's missions:

Development news / Re: Steam Release Date
« Last post by ApolloGirl on February 18, 2018, 03:59:23 PM »
Hi peteduggan35,

The release date on Steam is set to Feb 2018 so we will stick to that. Indeed we are not making any major changes at this stage of the process. We are currently just waiting on a few administrative decisions to come through. We will launch before the end the month for PC and then followed by MAC.

Thank you all for your patience!

General Discussion / SpaceX Falcon Heavy flight
« Last post by ApolloGirl on February 14, 2018, 08:48:25 PM »
The Falcon Heavy successfully launched for the first from Cape Canaveral on 6 February sending Musk's Tesla into orbit towards Mars. The flight proved successful in many ways. Two boosters returned to Earth. The Falcon Heavy is now the most powerful rocket able to lift  141,000 lb of payload. Only the Saturn V has delivered more payload into space. We are now one step closer to more affordable spaceflight.

Report your Bugs here! / No sound on built in iPad Speaker
« Last post by HMC on February 08, 2018, 04:20:30 AM »
When playing, I get no sound on my iPad mini 4. If I plug in headphones, I get sound. The iPad speakers work on all other apps. Very frustrating.

Running iOS 11.2.2.

Betatest Area / Re: Steam version: Text to Speech Not Working Since Jan 23
« Last post by machala on February 06, 2018, 08:34:02 PM »
So it all looks like bad news. I just tested the sim on an English Windows 7 install and no TTS either. So it apparently works in Win10 only :(

Moreover - the Steam store page now says Win10 recommended with a remark that MS TTS has to be installed to get checklists and radio stations read aloud.

Any comment from Brixton Dynamics/Stuka games on whether there is any chance for TTS in Win7 would be highly appreciated. The old TTS worked so well...

Hello, now that the release date is close, are there any chances the TTS issue in Win7 (or non-English Win7?) will get sorted till the release? As I proposed before, perhaps by providing the original TTS system separately?

Thank you very much!

Betatest Area / Steam beta (4)

Just a little one for today...

With the option "Automated orbital burns" set to ON, Radial +/- corrections setup in the Orbit planner do nothing (tested with the CSM in flight between earth and moon). Only Delta-V and Normal corrections seem to work (but even in this case, sometimes the SPS engine doesn't stop after correction).

1. There is no manual attitude control with the CSM. Is there any reason for that? I tried to configure the guidance system for manual control, but didn’t succeed (CMC mode to FREE, ST CONT to SCS, RCS TRNFR to SM, SCS TVC to RATE, manual attitude switches to ACCEL CMD).

2.Using the “Mid Course Correction” mission: Running checklist 5-MidOrbitCorrection in Auto mode, the checklist ends with program 11 with an error msg “spacecraft is not at launch port”, and the SPS engine starts burning at full thrust. If I don’t shut it off manually, the perigee alt. increases until the orbit becomes hyperbolic… And no mean to reach the moon.

3.If I go to Config / Realism, and chose Automated Orbital Burn OFF, the orbital burn configured in Orbit planner is transferred as dVs to the burn pad, but then, running program 40 (or 104) does nothing. No burn. Only the Automated Orbital Burn ON option seems to work.

4.Once you’ve used an Automated Orbital Burn, the attitude auto pilots become ineffective. You can no longer use Prograde (prog. 20) or Normal Plus (prog. 22) for instance.
