Betatest Area / Steam version: Text to Speech Not Working Since Jan 23
« on: January 24, 2018, 06:14:13 PM »
Since yesterday the text to speech functionality stopped working, I just hear the beeps. Turning the "Spoken checklists" option off and on in the config/audio has no effect.

Report your Bugs here! / No Steam Release as Promised
« on: December 22, 2017, 07:17:43 AM »
Hello jcarrion, ApolloGirl and the rest of the team,

there was no steam release yesterday (December 21) as promised. I believe that the community on steam deserves an explanation or at least a short information on what happened and what are the next steps. It's of course your call, but this is my humble advice because what happened does not look very trustworthy. It does not have to be a long story or anything, just a short, one paragraph info on the status published on the steam forum. This silence is, in my humble opinion, a bad move...

Betatest Area / Steam Version Beta Test Results
« on: December 12, 2017, 08:04:25 PM »

my points from the beta test are following:

(1) The newest update (today) places the first mission (full pre-launch) at dawn, but the time shows 12:50 pm.

(2) When I move my view to the top of the cabin (holding right mouse button and moving the view to the very top) what sometimes happens is that the view starts slowly moving down by itself and the only way to reset it is to go to the external view and back.

(3) I believe the view should be limited when inside the cabin so that one does not see outside the cab. This happens also during the checklist auto - you see through the back wall during some of the checklists steps - kills immersion a lot.

Of course, many checklists and missions do not seem to work as expected, but I presume this will be fixed.

(a) there is a lot of shadow flickering of various switches when moving your view throughout the cab, impacts immersion a lot. If we could turn off shadwos for the elements causing this it would be great.

(b) A lot of sounds (especially engines) do not have very good loops and some contain a lot of crackling. If you can advise how to extract the sounds I could try to make better loops/remove the crackling.

(c) The Moon has a rather yellowish/brownish look while I believe it should be more monochrome (grey). The mobile version has a more geyish Moon, not sure why the Moon color was changed and do not believe the representation in the steam version is accurate.

(d) I don't see any graphical settings for resolution/fullscreen. Additionally - do you plan any settings for anti-aliasing? Especially on the Moon the level of terrain flickering is rather high. I set my own in the nvidia control panel, it's much better, but not quite perfect.

(e) Are you sure the CM's windows were covered by such a high level of condensed water? This effect looks cool, but I dont believe the astronauts' view was so much distorted by water droplets across all the window surfaces all the time...

(f) The Earth's atmosphere as seen from the orbit has sometimes some hilly look inside it. Interestingly it appears only for certain places, others are perfectly crisp. If needed I can upload a screenshot of what I mean. I know that the same thing appears in the mobile version, but perhaps it's just more apparent on a big screen...

And one additional suggestion: please think about changing the TTS voice to a male. Think it would be more appropriate for the Apollo program.

General Discussion / PC Version
« on: July 22, 2016, 09:40:27 AM »

can I please ask how close are we to the PC version?

If the game is in a usable state you could probably release this first as a Steam early access game. This could even get you some money before the development is finished.

Report your Bugs here! / Bug Reports for the Android Version 1.0.3
« on: October 02, 2015, 05:58:37 PM »

so I bought the sim, it really looks great. Graphics is very nice given the fact this is on a tablet (it of course cannot compare to PC graphics of today).

I currently tested on an older tablet with a Tegra 3 chipset, it does not run perfectly, but still pretty fine. I came across the following bugs there:

1. Reflections on surfaces (like those on ISS) sometimes show green rectangles in them - maybe incorrectly loaded textures? The tablet just has 1GB of RAM, maybe the RAM is insufficient? It does not happen every time.

2. Sometimes the textures of surfaces do not get loaded OK -  I noticed this on the Moon, the Moon surface has ractanguler black "holes" in it sometimes.

3 It seems to be happening only with the space shuttle or the orion shuttle: from time to time there is a weird flash or something like a white cloud around the spacecraft, sometimes it feels like a fast flash of the whole screen. It appears and disappeares in a fraction of a second (really flashes) so I can't even say what it exactly is or what it looks like. Does not seem to happen with the Apollo spacecraft.

Additionally I have the following suggestions:

1. Why does the sim load that default scenario (space shuttle parked at ISS - BTW ISS in 1986? ;) ), I think it should start by showing you the missions screen. Does not make sense waiting for the default scenario to load (takes quite a while) when you want to run something else.

2. I noticed when a mission is loading it starts playing audio while still the screen shows just "Loading...". Even when the picture is shown finally, it is still stuttering for a while until it settles (apparently objects and textures are still being loaded). I suggest that nothing should start, play or be displayed until all is fully loaded, think it would result in a better user experience. Better wait a bit longer and then have a usable game rather than have this low performance in the beginning of a scenario.

Anyway, thank you very much for the sim. Although it has its problems and a lot of things do not seem so "polished", running this on a tablet looks like a miracle. I personally would welcome a PC version (where one has a way better HW available), so that the graphics can look a lot better and still all would be butter smooth.

Best regards
