hi PcLaurent.

Mars should be now in the correct position.  I guess that would be in the next weekly  automated-beta build .

Report your Bugs here! / Re: Problems in Apollo Tutorial 2
« on: January 11, 2018, 02:44:30 PM »
Hello to all,

I have tried the apollo tutorial 2  and I think I have found some problems.
The ALN Button doesn't work and the program P52 doesn't do anything. Maybe I have made a mistake. I have just followed the orders and after the message that in 2min the burn will start nothing happens. Even if I wait 10min. Is there anything else to do then just entering verb 37 an noun 52?

Thank you in advance

hi .
The ALN button (in 1.0.7 -released mobile )  is meant to get alignment beetween spacecrafts (as in L.O.R ,) .

The SaturnV was launched in the correct orbital inclination  at the right time ,so there is no need to perform orbital plane aligment.

In the next versions ( 1.0.8 / Steam ), the ALN MFD button allows to align to cellestial bodies' orbit as well.

will have a look at it once the Steam build is out .

well , in the mobile version both platforms (IMU & GDC are correctly aligned by default ).They dont' drift out off aligment .So no need to readquire the REFSMATT .

The mission still states ( and the audio ), but that's for simplicity ,using the same tutorial for both versions.

On the desktop/Steam version thou , the IMU drifts -a lot-  over time ,and requires freqcuent p52s

Perhaps ,we should implement the drift on the mobile version - or remove the reference to P52 altogether-

Thanks !

hi. Thanks for your comments.

well , the predictive APO changes, as it is analitically computed. That means where would the apogee  if it werent other elements affecting the orbit.

in reality , Mars, and the rest of the planets are also affecting the spacecraft's orbit ,hence the orbit -while theorically inmutable -  will change over time.

that said , there was  a bug that corrupts a bit the orbit solver when time compression is set to a very high value. This has been fixed , will be in the next beta version.

we are also working on the next mobile release , but we can't confirm any date.

and a good idea it is indeed.

Implementing right away!

Thanks for the suggestion.

Astronautics Forum / Apollo Launch Pad Bunker????
« on: December 15, 2017, 02:25:03 PM »
Interestingly , the famous 39b/a launchpads that we all  know , house an emergency bunker below  , to be used by the astronauts in the case of an emergency (  fire ?) on the launch pad.

Thanks to a sef of pulleys , and a zip line . the 3 astronauts would winch themselves down the 110 meters height , and throught a set of tunnels/blast doors,  lock themselves inside the bunker ,until the big explosion. Remember that a fully fuelled Saturn V has roughtly 1/7th of the explosive power of an Hiroshima-type fission nuclear bomb.

When the risk of explosion would ve been over ( either beacause It actually blew up ) or the fire been put off, the crew would have been recovered with an M113 Armour Troop Carrier .

Most astronauts practiced driving the M113 tracked vehicle , so they could get back to safety . Here is some shuttle-astronaut after his training drive.

yep , this is a well known bug. If you play non-stop from TrnaspositionRotationDocking to Moon landing , the collision of the LM is somehow bigger than It should be , and IT will crash prematurely ..  Simply saving & loading will fix the issue
