: Beta version 1.33
: Glowworm51 September 21, 2016, 11:00:36 PM
I have come across the following problems so far:

1. SLS Rendevous with Altair lander from low earth orbit. If you use 'Direct' to point to the lander, and then try and use time compression, you are now prompted to set the attitude to 'Att Hold'. If you do this the Docking MFD comes out of the 'Point to' program to the 'None' program. If you change back to 'Direct', you cannot use time compression unless you cancel the 'Att Hold' and then reset it.

2. When using RCSROT in manual mode to manoeuvre the SLS command module, the forward and backward thruster slider does not appear to work as it does in 1.06.

3. Have there been any changes made to the orbital planner. I still find it impossible to do a Mars orbit transfer (Saturn and Jupiter are fine). I was hoping that the new release would provide a finer adjustment when using the planner.

Thanks for your feedback .

Regarding that mars transfer...   , the problem is just a matter of fine/coarse adjustment of the Deltas ?

-anyway , we probbably remove the SLS in the future versions  ... they are a source of bugs .. and ( from the analytics I can see over here)  ,barely no-one is using them . People are way more interested on  Apollo / Shuttle ).  This (beta)release is meant to feature the complete apollo tutorials  , from earth/moon etc..   (now with automated gameplay (if selected )  ), it will   actually launch from KSC and land actually on the moon a few days later! .

ok ... I ll figure out a way to add sensitivity to the sliders. I ll also have a look to that RCS stuff.

Thanks again .

Thanks jcarrion.  Surprised to hear that not many are using the SLS missions - I think they are great. As far as Mars orbit is concerned, I presume that the reason why it is a problem and Saturn and Jupiter are not is because of the relative gravitational forces. I am hoping that more sensitive Delta V and T sliders will help, but it may be that I am doing something wrong. What is the significance of the 'Compute' and 'Sim Length' and 'Sim Cycle' buttons in the Orbital Planner? I find that when I use the Planner to do a orbit transfer from the Moon to Mars, I have to set the Orion apogee ahead of the predicted Mars position in order to get the closest passing point. Even doing this, the distance still seems to be too great to achieve orbit. No problem with Saturn or Jupiter.

I have also found that sometimes coming out of the Orbir Planner takes you to the Browser screen rather than the spacecraft views.

Just to add that the problem with the RCSROT is the same when trying a manual docking of the Apollo command and service modules with the launch vehicle. In 1.06 the trust slider allowed you to apply a brief forward or reverse thrust before centering. In the beta version this doesn't seem possible.

I like the SLS as well, but anything capable of a Mars transfer is cool. The space plane is great but it doesn't have that Mars Direct feel.
Thanks jcarrion for all the hard work. I'm eager to try out the update when it hits Android.

And many thanks from me too....

i tried it this morning but for me, the simulator crash when testing the apollo tutorials, and same with any mission. i will reinstall a third time.

that's quite interesting . Which iPhone/iPad model ?

Thanks !

hi francisco, it is my usual ipad 4 retina. i hope that the 1.33 send you messaages during the crash. i reinstalled the program from the apple store and i see that i have no instructions anymore for some apollo misssions. the docking with the lem , canT remember the program i have to use for docking.

I am using an iPad Air iOS 9.3.2. Simulation crashes when selecting custom mission.

great!   . Ive just added a Range/finetuner slider , so you can adjust DeltaT ,V , R , N ,etc..     as fine or coarse as required . (from cm/sec to M/s  , and so on .. ).

Many thanks for having done this so quickly. Presumably it will take some time for it to be available on TestFlight?

well , I m just  finishing the implementation of VSOP87 (*the 'good' planetary position  model ) ,  (with non co-planar orbits ,etc ) .  Current -old -coplanar model is still theere as a toggleable option , just in case someone prefers it for planetary transfers.

shouldnt take longer than a couple days to be on test flight

Thanks

Okay thanks - I'm having some problems with TLI  and being unable to accelerate time. These may be down to me - I'll do some further testing and report back

Francisco, could you allow some things in the custom mission,

- to choose the apollo spacecrafts, lem or csm

- choose a date before 2016, like from 1960 till 2016

-put the time, date somewhere on screen

- allow in "moon descent initialisation" to start the motor of the lem, presently, this is automatic.
One thing is precious in this mission; it is possible to see the csm go far from the lem whan the descent motor start, but it happens so quikly that it is diificult to  see it

One thing is great on the apollo 11 mission, it is possible to see the solar eclipse as seen by apollo 11. I saw that on your software and it has a great value for educationnal purpose. It could be possible to see it on apollo 12 if you allow to choose the date on custom mission.

hi Thierry .

Thanks for those suggestions . All have been implemented  in this build that Im gonna send in 1-2 days  .

Thanks !
 :)

The current TimeDate is shown now always on the time tab .  (SCreenshot is from the Steam Mac Version , but in mobile is the same ).

Hi I am kmassie92 I've been using this sim since day one good job guys I see lots of potential in the mobile version can u add space shuttle to custom flight/mission oh and can u make more realistic and sharper earth textures like roads and sharper clouds in iOS mobil maybe in next beta build or whatever build thanks keep up the good work cheers
