Nice pic 

However,  when ever I have been in the pilots seat not that often

The artificial horizon  represents the angle of your wings 

in the pic this is in reverse  ????

hi . 

 . the artificial horizon /FDAI is correct. It represents the local inclination of terrain as seen from inside a plane. This is the standard on almost every plane in the world , ( including the Space Shuttle   ) -except- russian planes , that have a fixed horizon and tilt the plane.
